  Does anyone know what the Watchtower's corporate ladder would be like?

  i was wondering if anyone knows how a brother would make his way up to the governing body.

  in my (worldly) opinion, there has to be something like a corporate ladder to climb.

  does anyone know what the "procedure" would be?.

  i have long had an idea that i think is a very powerful tool in reaching even hard-nosed jw's.. .

  it would consist only of actual photographic scans of various documents, articles, photographs such as these from marvin shilmer's blog: (see next panel).

  there would be no extraneous non-official text whatsoever.. it would be published the size of an old life magazine and sent anonymously to jw's at their homes.. the cover would clearly contain the words: "all contents originally published by watchtower bible &tract society".

  Band on the Run: I'm curious as to how a copy of his passport was obtained. Do we know for certain this a true document?

  Here is what that photo looks like from a copy that looks like a trackable document. It is from http://www.christianwitnesses.com/id312.html

  Note the hand stamping from the "agent - department of state". I suppose one could write to the state department and obtain, perhaps for a small fee, authentication giving the known information. I don't imagine a state department clerk will find it too difficult to find a record by supplying N. H. Knorr and a date of June 8, 1968. He's the only "Knorr" I've ever heard of. He's also the only Knorr I've ever met, tho briefly, at the 1957 Baltimore district assembly some 11 years before that photo was taken.

  wannabefree: There was a magazine that in the original print said something about the end coming before the end of the century and then in the bound volumes it was changed ... or something on that order. Is there a scan available of each. Not that its a big deal, but how do you know the info in the Watchtower Library CD is the same as the original publication?

  Here it is from my 2010 WT Library CD. It is no different that that on CD's which are owned by most JWs:

  As a side note, many JWs used this to indirectly affirm their faith in the 1975 date. After all, it was only 4 years earlier.

  The passing of that couple, he a chiropractor, has been confirmed by several sources before I added them to the list on that WT cover. Sources used social security death records in their confirmation. Their last name, by the way, is spelled Steman.

  and if you live with them, you can carry on in a somewhat "normal" relationship but if they move out, you must treat them like shit..

  You can live your life any way you choose, and you can still be invited over for dinner and socialize with your family normally. They can speak to you without it hurting their conscience. However, if you got dunked when you were even as young as nine or ten, and you are df'd, then you have to be treated like a leper (or worse).

  Yep. That is why they are trying to get young ones dunked even sooner (see recent WT where 10 yr old kid is pictured) Too many are escaping without the shunning consequences.

  Yes -- and there are two yearbook examples of 6 year olds getting baptized.

  Imagine such a DFd child with a family get-together at his house. Any wonder why suicides are prevalent?

  I've stopped my bible study but....

  the lady i studied with asked if it would be okay if she still brought the magazines by.

  i said of course because i do love the awake and watchtower.

  well, when she came by last week, she gave me the mags and then as we stood around chit-chatting, i realized we were basically still having the study, only we were standing up instead of sitting in the living room.

  PenelopePaige: I'm surprised that everyone is so shocked at me liking the magazines. Holy crap, should I not be reading them? They seem okay to me. I'm really shocked that everyone has an issue with me liking the magazines....

  Btw, if anyone has any advice on how to nicely and respectively end this, I would appreciate it-

  I'm sorry I got here late in your good discussion. You've already received some very good tips so let me add one more. Take 9 minutes to read the following essay. It will suggest a single question for you to ask that may take that nice lady completely off guard. It will also expose those "okay" magazines for what they really are.

  Research question re. Treatment of Disfellowshipped Relatives

  i do remember, but can't seem to find it, a watchtower comment that stated.

  " relatives must decide on the emotiional needs of the df'd relatives to see what limited contact would be necessary".

  does anyone remember this?.

  NewChapter: I knew of a young girl who got pregnant. She was disfellowshipped and her family and everyone she knew turned their backs on her. She had the baby and suffered from post partum depression. The child's father rejected her. Her family and friends shunned her. She shot herself to death. JW's blamed the boyfriend who rejected her. She was 19. Yeah.

  SHUNNING IS EVIL. Shunning causes deaths.

  The following image may speak in behalf of such depressed children. Remember, a disfellowshipped child living in the home of JW parents must not be allowed to mingle with other baptized folks, including fleshly brothers, sisters, cousins, etc., who live outside the home. Imaging the trauma of a get-together at his parents home.

  as part of my objective analysis of four month's worth of watchtower study editions from july to october 2011, i found the following gem from a question from readers, on page 22 of the august 15 magazine.

  the question under discussion was "how are we to understand the figures in the annual service report?

  ", and it goes on to provide an idiot's guide to what the figures mean, including the following.... "memorial partakers.

  i have been studying with jw's.

  they seem to have a lot of truth but i have come across a lot of conflicting information about them.

  i want the best for my family and i and want to get closer to god.. any advice?.

  Hi Barb,

  The following essay link is designed for newly interested ones. It exposes Watchtower by revealing the single most outrageous series of Watchtower contradictions that most of us have ever seen. It does it from their own publications. It does it without discussing any doctrines, which, as you know is like talking to your cat.

  If that person is willing to take the 9 minutes it takes to read it, there's a good chance that the study will be postponed -- even canceled. Good luck.
